Qualification
The candidate must be a citizen of India.
A good character record is mandatory. The court may ask for certificates or documents in support of this.
The applicant must hold a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a university recognized under the Advocates Act, 1961.
Candidates who are in the final year of LL.B. are also allowed to apply, provided they submit proof of completion before the Main Examination.
Candidates should have a good command of Hindi written in Devanagari script and be familiar with Rajasthani dialects and local customs.

Pay Scale
The salary of a Civil Judge (Junior Division) in Rajasthan is fixed under the new pay rules.
Basic Pay: ₹77,840 per month.
Pay Range: ₹77,840 – ₹1,36,520 per month.
Allowances & Benefits
In addition to the basic salary, judges receive several allowances and facilities, such as:
Dearness Allowance (DA): Around ₹41,000 per month.
Petrol Allowance: ₹6,000 per month.
Medical Allowance: ₹2,000 per month.
House-help Allowance: ₹1,500 per month.
Accommodation: Rent-free official housing, or house rent reimbursement of ₹15,000–₹17,000 if government quarters are not available.
Utility Reimbursement: Half of the electricity and water bills are covered.
Telephone/Internet Bills: Paid by the government.

Rajasthan Civil Judge Selection Process
The recruitment is carried out in three stages:
1. Preliminary Examination
This is the first stage and is conducted in an objective type (MCQ) format.
It serves as a screening test to shortlist candidates for the main exam.
Questions are generally based on law subjects, language skills (Hindi & English), and general knowledge.
Marks scored in the prelims are not included in the final merit list.
2. Main Examination
The mains is a descriptive written examination.
It includes different papers that cover substantive and procedural laws, along with language papers.
Marks from the mains exam are added to the final merit.
3. Interview (Viva-Voce)
Candidates who clear the mains are called for an interview.
The interview assesses personality, legal understanding, communication, general awareness, and suitability for the judicial role.
Interview marks are also counted in the final merit list.
