Yes, the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) officially released the Group C and Group D Recruitment 2025 notification on October 9, 2025. A total of 8,477 vacancies have been announced 

2. When does the online application process start and end

The online application process for WBSSC Group C & D Recruitment 2025 will begin on November 3, 2025, and will continue until December 3, 2025 (up to 5:00 PM). The last date for fee payment is also December 3, 2025. Candidates are advised to apply well before the last date to avoid any last-minute technical issues.

3. When is the tentative date for the written examination?

7. What is the selection process for WBSSC Group C and Group D posts

The selection process consists of two main stages:
Written Examination (OMR-based)
Interview

For Group C posts, additional factors such as Academic Performance, Prior Experience, and a Typing-cum-Computer Proficiency Test will also be considered during selection.

8. What is the WBSSC Group C Exam Pattern?

The WBSSC Group C exam will be 1 hour long and will contain 60 questions worth 60 marks. The subject-wise distribution is as follows:

• General Knowledge: 15 Marks

• Current Affairs: 15 Marks

• General English: 15 Marks

• Arithmetic: 15 Marks

The exam will be OMR-based (offline) and will assess both knowledge and aptitude.

9. Is there negative marking in the WBSSC exam

No, there is no negative marking for incorrect answers in either the Group C or Group D examination. 

10. What is the estimated in-hand salary for Group C and Group D posts?

The in-hand salary (including allowances such as DA, HRA, and MA) is as follows:

• Group C: Approximately ₹26,400 to ₹29,900 per month

• Group D: Approximately ₹20,000 to ₹22,500 per month
