Qualification
1. Flying Branch
Must have 12th class with Physics and Mathematics (minimum 50% in each).
A graduate degree in any discipline with at least 60% marks OR
A B.E./B.Tech degree with at least 60% marks.
2. Ground Duty (Technical Branch)
(a) Aeronautical Engineer – Electronics [AE (L)]
12th class with Physics and Mathematics (minimum 50% each).
Engineering degree in Electronics, Telecommunication, Electrical, Computer Science, IT, or related fields (minimum 60%).
(b) Aeronautical Engineer – Mechanical [AE (M)]
12th class with Physics and Mathematics (minimum 50% each).
Engineering degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Production, Aeronautical, Aerospace, or related fields (minimum 60%).
3. Ground Duty (Non-Technical Branches)
Administration / Logistics – Graduate in any discipline with 60%.
Accounts – B.Com with 60%.
Education – Master’s degree (MBA/MCA/MA/M.Sc.) with 50%.
Meteorology – Postgraduate degree in Physics/Maths/Geography/Environmental Science or related subjects with 50%.
4. NCC Special Entry (Flying Branch)
NCC Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ Certificate required.
Graduate with 60% marks, with Physics and Mathematics at 12th level
Salary
1. During Training
Candidates get a stipend of ₹56,100 per month at the Air Force Academy.
2. After Commissioning (as Flying Officer)
Basic Pay: ₹56,100 – ₹1,77,500 (Pay Level 10 as per 7th CPC).
Military Service Pay (MSP): ₹15,500 per month.
In-hand Salary (Approx.):
Flying Branch: ₹85,000 per month
Ground Duty (Technical): ₹75,000 per month
Ground Duty (Non-Technical): ₹72,000 per month
3. Allowances (as per posting & duty)
Flying Allowance (Flying Branch): ₹11,250 – ₹17,500
Technical Allowance (Tech Branch): ~₹2,500
Other Allowances: House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), Dearness Allowance (DA), Field/High Altitude/Special Duty Allowance (if applicable)
WBSSC Assistant Teacher Selection Process
1. Written Exam (Online Test)
Conducted in computer-based mode.
Questions are multiple-choice type.
Sections include:
General Awareness
English (Verbal Ability)
Numerical Ability
Reasoning and Military Aptitude
For candidates applying to the Technical Branch, there is an additional Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT).
Marks from this stage are used to shortlist candidates for the next round.
2. AFSB Interview (Air Force Selection Board)
Shortlisted candidates are called for a five-day interview at one of the AFSB centres (Dehradun, Mysuru, Gandhinagar, or Varanasi).

Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PP&DT)
Only candidates who qualify move to Stage II.

3. Medical Examination
Candidates who clear AFSB are sent for a medical test.

Prepared on the basis of Written Exam + AFSB Interview + Medical Fitness.
Candidates in the merit list are offered training at the Air Force Academy (AFA), Hyderabad.
